1.0.3 Released

In the month of April, we've got from being a "pre-order" in the Apple Store, to our first release, and two quick updates.

This is our first app, obviously we are really excited about our progress, and about the small, but hopefully growing, number of users.

Our expectations

With 1.0.3, we think we have a very good app that fits the following description:

  • Free
  • Easy to configure
  • Easy to send -  preview what is being sent, then tap the green button and pick the communications channel.
  • Easy to receive.
Basically, if they any online or phone presence, they should be able to receive a vCard
  • No app requirements - recipient doesn't need the app.
  • No data / privacy concerns - We don't ask for access to you contacts, we don't save or track anything you send.

What next?

If we see problems in this version, we will continue to release updates to 1.0.

For 1.1, we have a couple goals.

  • Visually improve the UI.
The DropCard provides basic view of your card, so you have a preview of what your are sending.
Aesthetically speaking, the recipient's view is more attractive than our current display. (More importantly, what they see is consistent with the normal behavior of their device/OS).
  • DropCard contents should be more flexible
For 1.0, we support minimal contact information.
In our next version, DropCard will organize more information, and make it easier to send the right information.
